Big for a Day is a program for volunteer with a lot of heart, but not a lot of time.
Volunteers who cannot give the time needed to be a full-time Big Brother or Big Sister can be a Big Brother or Sister for a few hours or for an event whenever they have time.
The Little is often a child who is on the waiting list, who is waiting 2-4 years, for their own Big Brother or Sister, but will benefit from spending some time with a volunteer.
ActivitiesBig Brothers and Sisters
of Brandon encourages low cost activities. Volunteers can have a
variety of interests, some are into sports, others are not. The fact is
everyone has unique talents and interests that they can use to benefit
the life of a child.
Activities have included: swimming,
dog walking, going to the park, hiking, movies, baking, video games,
board games, crafts, building, mechanics, snowboarding, skateboarding,
skiing, biking, water balloon fights, tobogganing, skating, snowman
building, sand castles, day at the beach, shopping and window shopping,
making supper together, exercising, gardening, garage sales, going for
hot chocolate, reading, going to the library, surfing the net together,
going for ice cream, attending events in the community (dog shows,
