Big Sister July Events

1. Afternoon on the Acreage at Big Sister Gilliane’s Acreage

Saturday, July 10^th from 1-4:00 PM

Come out for a fun-filled day on the acreage with horses, face-painting, scavenger hunt, wagon rides and wiener roast!

2. Aboriginal Culture Camp on WillowIsland!

Monday, July 10^th from 1-4:00 PM

taco-in-a-bag, Medicine Wheel teaching by Elder Norma Jean Byrd, Traditional Games and Dream Catchers!

Meet at the ferry dock and take the ferry over to the Island!  This is a family event, so bring your loved ones!

3. Guest Speaker: Christine Selinger will tell us about a rock climbing accident that left her in a wheelchair and her inspiring story of how she has persevered and continues to do what she loves.

Wednesday, July 14^th 7:00 PM @ YWCA in the Multi-Purpose Room

You are invited to stay after our guest speaker for a Girls Only movie night.  Bring your sleeping bags and munchies!

4. Cirque du Soleil-Alegria

Big Sister August Events

1. Girls Week (girls ages 9-16 welcome)

August 3^rd-6^th (1-4:00 PM)

The daily topics will be:

Mental Wellness and Stress Relief (Tuesday-YWCA)

Healthy Eating and Active Living (Wednesday- IPSCO)

Healthy Relationships and Self Esteem (Thursday-YWCA)

Safety and Your Rights (Friday-YWCA and around the downtown)

2. BBQ, Games in the Park & Double Decker Bus Ride!

Thursday, August 19^th from 5:30-8:30 PM

Meet at CandyCanePark for the BBQ and Games (5:30-7:30)

Double Decker Bus Ride (7:30-8:15)

We will provide burgers, hot dogs and refreshments, please bring along salads, fruit, chips, or dessert to share with the group
