March
2010 Events:
Event:
Hip Hop/ Jazz Drop-In Dance Class
Location: YWCA in the Studio
Dates: This class will
run every Wednesday in March & April
Time: 7:00-7:45 PM every
Wednesday
Details:
This is a special
opportunity for kids in YWCA Programs & Big Sister Volunteers to
learn not
one, but two different dance styles. The kids will be learning both
hip-hop and
street jazz in a fun and encouraging environment. They will be learning
some of
the basic steps and a short combo every week to possibly combine to
perform at
the end of the two month session. This is a great opportunity to try
something
new! We are hoping that kids from YWCA programs, Big Bunch Groups,
Traditional Matches and Waitlisted Littles can be involved. It is not
necessary that kids attend every session, however in order to build on
skills,
it is important that they attend as many as they can. We have a
volunteer
dance instructor from Dance
City who has committed to
doing two months of class. She is experienced and open to teaching
people
of all age groups and understands that the participants will change from
week
to week.
