It’s that time of year again. That’s right, it’s bowling season. What better reason to get out and knock a few down than to raise money for Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Cornwall and District.
This is the fundraiser that sets the tone for the entire year for our agency! We need your help to make this event BIG! Last year we raised 75,000, This year let’s beat that! It easy to do!
The 2012 Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake will take place in Cornwall on Saturday February 4, 2012 at the Olympia Bowl and Nativity Lanes.
The 2012 Counties Challenge Cup will take place at the Chesterville Bowling Lanes on Sunday February 5, 2012.

Big Brothers Big Sister of Cornwall was selected as one of the 3 local children charities to receive funding from the Ultramar Foundation. BBBS received $4000 which will go towards the screening, training and operation of our 7 mentoring programs.
The Ultramar Foundation was created for the purpose of helping organizations that are dedicated to the well being of both communities and individuals.
CHRISTMAS EXPERIENCE TO REMEMBER........
Everyone at “Big Brothers Big Sisters” would like to send a BIG thank you to the Recreation Committee. The Christmas party on December 4th, 2011 was a great success. Big smiles, full bellies and hearty laughs were had by all that attended. The rock climbing and bouncy gym were an amazing addition. Thanks to our “Bigs” and staff Anne, Marian, Carolin , Amanda , Ashley, Pam, Kate and Megan for making the best Christmas party ever.

A special shout out and thank you to Christal Huizinga from Zumba Cornwall for raising $600 for Big Brothers Big Sisters! Christal along with 30 of her wonderful Zumba peeps donated their time and money to Zumba Caroling in Sunrise Acres on Saturday December17th. Thanks to all that made this a great success. This money will be going to the recreation committee to help plan upcoming events for our matches.
MOVIE NIGHT! 
The Rec. Association has organized a Movie Night Wednesday January 11th, 2012 from 530-8 at the Cornwall Public Library. We will be serving Billy K’s hotdogs and fries and have cookies for dessert. We will also have popcorn to snack on throughout the movie. Please sign up with the office.

We have organized a day of TUBING at Mont Saint Sauveur. (Mont Avila) again this year. We will be leaving the BBBS Office at 8:30am and be back for 5pm on Saturday February 25th. You can pack a lunch, or you can purchase it there. The cost for this event will be $10 per person. ($20 per match) and then $5 each additional in a Big Bunch. Please remember to bundle up in order to stay warm on this fun-filled day. There are places to warm up and rest. The maximum number of people is 48, as the bus will only hold that many, so please don’t delay, SIGN UP TODAY at 613-933-8035.
