2010 Tim Hortons Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids' Sake was a great success! It raised $80, 224.32 for Big Brothers Big Sisters 6 mentoring programs. B4KS would not be possible without your help organizing teams, registering your teams, collecting pledges and then being at the Olympia/Nativity/Chesterville Lanes to help us celebrate.
Bowl for Kids Sake is our largest fundraiser and helps to keep us in the business of making a positive difference in kids lives through mentoring. We couldn’t do that without you!

Annual General MeetingBig Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall and District will host its AGM on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 5-7pm at St. Lawrence College in the River Room.
The annual meeting will feature the President’s Report, the Executive Director’s Report, the Statement of Income and Expenditures for 2009, the Auditor’s Report, and the election of officers.
Memberships in the association are available at the office at the cost of $5. Membership must be purchased at least 3 days prior to the AGM.
Public is welcome to join us for light refreshments from 5-6pm. Please let us know if plan to attend by calling the office at 613 933-8035.
BIG deal
On March 5, 2010 Rollande Laundrie, our Administrative Assistant marks an important milestone that we are proud to share. This day acknowledges 20 years of hard work and dedication to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall and District. The Staff and Board are hosting an “open house” on Friday, March 5 between 3-5 pm to celebrate Rollande’s commitment to BBBS. Feel free to swing by the agency and express your wishes.
Are you going to be spring cleaning? If so, please keep us in mind. If you or someone you know have any “gently used” clothing, books or any household goods (big and small) to donate, please drop them off at ValueVillage located at 1400 Vincent Massey Drive. Funds will be given directly to BBBS of Cornwall for each drop off donation.

Recreation Association
Our Recreation Association Committee has a BIG thank you to Big Sister Carolin McCourt and her Dad Emerson Burgess! Emerson is part of the St Lawrence Seniors club and they donated $1000 towards Rec. outings. On behalf of the bigs and kids “THANKS”.
Also changes that have taken place for Rec is that Anne Boileau has stepped down as chair and Ashley Sloan has taken over her spot.
BIG THANKS Anne for your time and leadership. We also have Pam Bowen that is jumping on board to help plan activities with us. Welcome!!
Much Needed Renos Being Done!
The office has under gone some more renos. The office has been lucky enough to replace the entrance flooring, bathroom flooring, a carpet runner on the steps and a new toilet. These items were long over due to be replaced and we are so happy with the new look. Check it out next time you are around the office and stay tuned for even more changes in this upcoming year, we hope. J

of pizza and bowling. We will meet at Pizza Hut at about 5:30 p.m.
on Monday, March 22nd to enjoy the all you can eat buffet and then
after dinner we'll head off to Olympia Bowl for a little bit of bowling. Please call the Big Brother/Big Sister office to register for this event so we can make sure we have enough seating and bowling lanes reserved for our evening of fun!!

GET READY TO ROCK! SPRING CURLING EVENT
The Recreation Association Committee has once again reserved the Cornwall Curling Rink for an afternoon of fun. Curling has been a great success in the past few years and we have been asked to have it once again. We will have instructors teaching us all about curling and after our lesson we will have plenty of time to play a game. This is a great opportunity to teach your Little and open the door to possibilities for them in the future. After curling we will have a delicious spaghetti supper at the curling rink. We ask that each Big bring a dessert to the curling rink so we will have plenty of different treats to eat after dinner. We hope that you will all come out for this great opportunity! The cost of the event is $5 per person. Please call the Big Brother/Big Sister office to register for this event so we know how many are coming to make sure we have enough food for everyone.
