WHO CAN BE A BIG SISTER?
You can.
Being a Big Sister is about being a friend and someone to look up to. It’s about hanging out, talking and sharing, with many smiles along the way. It’s about making one child feel very special. And you’ll feel pretty great too. After the enrolment process, we’ll provide training and match you with a Little Sister who shares your interests.
Every girl needs a Big Sister to share with, talk
to or confide in. Whether it’s playing sports, learning a new craft or just goofing around, you’ll make a big difference in each other’s life. You’ll both be forever changed by the experience.
Volunteer Big Sisters must be a minimum of 19 years of age. Big Sisters are adult females just starting their careers/education (volunteer work looks great on a resume), women that have established careers or women not currently in the work force. Big Sisters must have access to a motor vehicle with adequate insurance so you can provide transportation to and from activities. Volunteers should be able to commit to a one year friendship seeing the child 2-3 hours a week depending on the activity you plan and your time schedule. Check out our volunteer application form here!
