It’s not about homework!  This is a program that takes place at the child’s school, during the school year.  The volunteer mentor spends one hour per week doing a fun activity or just talking with a child who could use a friend.  We encourage employers to give employees the time during the work day to volunteer…studies show that people who volunteer perform better on the job! Other employees have flexible work hours which can accommodate visiting their student during the day.  

Eligible students are from grades two to six referred by the school staff and attend T.M. Roberts or Amy Woodland Elementary Schools in Cranbrook.
