American Eagle Outfitters has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada since October 2004 supporting Canadian children in a variety of ways. Initially approximately 4,000 of American Eagle employees donated a total of 12,000 hours of to Jumpstart, YMCA National Safe Place, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, and other children charities.  In addition to providing needed support, the American Eagle volunteers will also act as role models and informational resources to like-minded youth interested in community involvement but unsure of where or how to start.

In November, 2007– American Eagle Outfitters announced the launch of AE Better World, a year-round philanthropy program that partners with customers to support causes and organizations that are important to AE customers.  In December 2007, American Eagle held a special holiday promotion selling a signature AE Better World Scarf in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.

“American Eagle has a long history of giving back to the community through the AE Foundation,” said Art Solomon, managing director of American Eagle Outfitters Canada. “AE Better World was created to involve our customers and their passion for the AE brand to support causes that are important to them by wearing clothing they love.”
