Our champion’s circle sponsor, Certified General Accountants of Ontario , is a professional association of accountants that comprises more than 17,600 CGAs and 9,000 students in the CGA program of professional studies in Ontario. Certified general accountants occupy key financial positions in business, industry, education and government. Additionally, as partners and owners of their own firms, many CGAs offer accounting and financial services to the public.

It was in 2001 that the Certified General Accountants of Ontario first entered into its gratifying partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC) and its Ontario member agencies. Partnering includes the Certified General Accountants of Ontario funding travel subsidies granted to member agencies of BBBSC to attend the Ontario Regional Workshop for training and education purposes. Additionally, the Certified General Accountants of Ontario provides $1,000 matching grants to each of its 18 chapters that dedicate fundraising support to a BBBSC Ontario member agency.

The staff member responsible for chapter services at the Certified General Accountants of Ontario indicates, “Certified general accountants and students in our CGA program truly enjoy participating in Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraising initiatives in their chapters, such as golf tournaments, bowlathons, curling bonspiels, a gala dinner, fashion shows, chocolate and/or lottery calendar sales, etc. In addition, several CGA Ontario chapters have supported local agencies through committee work, mentoring and treasury functions. Through this dynamic partnership, we're helping to ensure a bright future for many Ontario kids."
