From 2006 onward, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada began a terrific three year partnership with COGECO that saw their provision of $300,000 in combined financial and in kind support to benefit our Ontario agencies!
With respect to financial contributions, COGECO donated $150,000 toward the implementation and expansion of the Go Girls! program in Ontario. The Go Girls! “Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds” program was designed to address the physical activity, balanced eating and positive self-image needs of young women ages 12-14, based on a low ratio group mentoring model.
COGECO was established over 50 years ago and is a diversified communications company. Through its Cogeco Cable subsidiary, COGECO provides its residential and commercial customers with analog and digital video and audio services, high-speed Internet access as well as digital telephony. Cogeco Cable is the second largest cable operator in both Ontario and Quebec.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada is grateful for the support from COGECO and we look forward to working with them again in the future to help serve more children. Thank you COGECO!
