Skills Development Canada

Social Development Canada

The Social Development Directorate (SDD) of Skills Development Canada supports a number of overarching government priorities and plays a role in advancing the federal government's agenda in the areas of children and their families by working with the voluntary sector.

SDD works to advance the social priorities of the Government of Canada related to children and their families by making strategic investments that build knowledge, facilitate information sharing, and support effective practices in early learning.

SDD provides core funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.
