My father had passed away 2 years before I turned 7 and I wouldn't leave my Mom's side, let alone speak to anybody but her. Having a Big Sister changed my life!

I became a Little Sister  in Edmonton, AB when I was about 7.  I am now an adult and have maintained contact with my Big Sister Courtnay Woods the whole time! My father had passed away 2 years before I turned 7 and I wouldn't leave my Mom's side, let alone speak to anybody but her. Having a Big Sister changed my life! I just recently got married and my big sister was in my bridal party! Below are her thoughts on how amazing the program is, and she even mentioned it in her speech!

In Big Sister Courtnay's words: "The best decision I made at age 20 was to become a BIG sister. I was matched with an adorable little girl named Kristen who was 7 years old. Now this beautiful young woman is all grown up and fits in perfectly with all my siblings! So blessed that we could all be together to celebrate Kristen's marriage. If you have ever thought of giving back to your community but weren't sure what to do, I highly encourage you to consider Big Brothers Big Sisters. It truly is an amazing opportunity to make a difference in a child's life. And there is no greater reward than seeing them grow up to be amazing."
