Throughout the evening the little brothers and little sisters that attended handed out Big Brother Big Sister pins. Many of the attendees were wearing them as they left the room.
During the day Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada had scheduled meetings with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, Ministry of Justice and Attorney General, Minister of National Defence, meeting with key MP's, Senators and a meeting with the Prime Minister. There are additional meetings taking place in the upcoming weeks that wouldn't fit into the day leading into the reception.
Relationships are the core of our mentoring programs, but they are also important for the movement as a whole. It is through relationship-building meetings such as these, that we can ensure Big Brothers Big Sisters' programs continue to benefit children and youth across Canada.
