Corporate Canada Shares A Little Magic With Big Brothers Big Sisters! September is Big Brother Big Sister Month and some of Canada’s largest corporations are helping to spread the word!

FedEx Canada, Universal Studios Home Entertainment, MasterCard Canada, PartSource, COGECO, Shaw and Star Choice Television, EDULINX Canada and Canadian Living Magazine are behind a nationwide campaign to help raise awareness for mentoring and the impact positive role models bring to the healthy development of children and communities throughout Canada.

“Like many charitable organizations, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada works with the corporate community to strengthen our cause and improve our ability to increase service delivery. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada is excited about the 2006 BBBS Month campaign and the unique projects that will help us reach thousands of Canadians”, said Bruce MacDonald, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada. “These companies are helping to pioneer a fantastic campaign that will ultimately help our organization to serve more children. Partners Lending a Hand:

Universal and PartSource: A feature article in their September e-newsletter about Big Brothers Big Sisters will help raise awareness for mentoring;

COGECO: During the month of September look for the Big Brothers Big Sisters message on every COGECO statement as well as through Public Service Announcements airing in 17 markets across Ontario;

FedEx: FedEx has featured Big Brothers Big Sisters in a September NewsCanada article that will be distributed across Canada with a call to action encouraging the public to learn more about Mentoring and Big Brothers Big Sisters;

MasterCard: During the month of September they will feature a Big Brothers Big Sisters banner ad on their home page in support of the national campaign;

Canadian Living: In their October issue, which hits newsstands in September, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada will receive a full page advertisement;

EDULINX: On September 19th EDULINX will host the fifth annual Golf for Kids Sake tournament in which proceeds will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada;

Shaw and Star Choice: During the entire month of September both stations will be airing the In-School Mentoring public service announcement on specialty channels such as A&E and TLC.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada is the nation’s largest youth mentoring organization providing quality adult mentoring services for 23,415 children in more than 1000 communities.
