Big Brothers Big Sisters Named a 2013 ComputerWorld Honors Laureate

In an especially competitive year for the prestigious program, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada is thrilled and to announce that is has been named a 2013 ComputerWorld Honors Laureate.


Big Brothers Big Sisters uses Dynamics Systems to manage the programs and services it offers the children/youth we serve. It's used to ensure our agencies have a holistic view of the mentors and children they work for, and to manage their involvement through various facets of the services.

To select this year's Laureates, a panel of 22 distinguished judges were chosen and many of them were Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader Honorees from diverse industries. These judges were task with evaluating the humanitarian benefits and measurable results of applying technology to meet a specific social or business need. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada was selected from more than 700 nominations to become one of 269 Laureates from 29 countries.

“We are honored to be named a 2013 ComputerWorld Honors Laureat! The Dynamics CRM system has helped us enhance our volunteer training, access data remotely and improved our analysis of data.” said Bruce MacDonald, President & CEO of Big Brother Big Sisters of Canada. ‘The bottom line is that the use of Dynamics CRM is greatly assisting our efforts to improve our program quality and serve even more children’.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada has been invited to the black tie Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Monday June 3rd, 2013 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. where this achievement will be recognized publicly as each Laureate is presented with a medallion inscribed with the program's mission, "A Search for New Heroes."

Additionally, five Laureates from each of the 11 Honors categories will be named as finalists for a 21st Century Achievement Award. One finalist in each category will then be named a 21st Century Achievement Award winner. These awards will be announced on site at the event.
