BMO Financial Group Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters in a Big Way

BMO financial logoA long standing partner of Big Brother Big Sisters of Canada for 18 years, BMO Financial Group has not only increased the opportunity for our agencies to build new partnerships and strengthen existing ones but it has also helped the Big Brothers Big Sisters movement with volunteer recruitment across Canada.

Since 1996, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada has been privileged to have our National Convention hosted at BMO Financial Group's fabulous Institute for Learning in Toronto.

This exceptional training facility meets our needs each year, providing representatives of the Big Brother Big Sister movement from across Canada with a place to gather, learn and share in a top-notch training and accommodation facility. For our agencies, it is almost like coming home every year. In 2007, BMO Financial Group increased its level of support by providing additional training opportunities at the Institute for Learning for the national staff of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.

As a result, 21 agencies across Canada each year were able to start or expand the Go Girls! And/or Game On! group mentoring program in their community.

Game On logo ENWith the help of this funding, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada and its agencies are not only capable of increasing the impact of mentoring across the country, but it also provides the opportunity to strengthen existing relationships with school boards, local colleges and universities and community organizations. In addition, the funds enabled agencies to invest in more recruitment efforts, to in turn have a pool of screened and trained volunteers.

A BIG thank you to BMO Financial Group from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada and its agencies for believing in the value and values of mentoring.
