Seriously, I really like socks. I will wear a nice pair of socks until all the elastic is gone or until my toes start sticking out the end. Last year, my kids got me a few of the coolest pairs of socks for Christmas. This year, I’m hoping for more of the same. Nothing else under the tree for me, please. #Greatestgift
With the support of Standard Life Canada, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada today launched a national advertising campaign. “You’re More Fun Than Plywood” shows that being a mentor is easier than one might think, and that it can make a big difference in a child’s life.
This November, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada organized an event to create awareness with the Federal Government about the value and benefits of mentoring by matching 60 youths with the Prime Minister, and various Ministers and MPs for a day on The Hill.
In its second year, the event was a huge success with more Ministers & MPs asking to participate and be matched with a Little Brother or Little Sister. The youths created a lot of social media buzz and definitely brought some energy & enthusiasm to The Hill while promoting the impact mentoring has had on their lives.
YOUth in Office is a collaboration with The Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.
