RAINBOWS
If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you.
And share with you it's beauty
On the days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own.
A place to find serenity
A place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea.
But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me,
I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair
But let me be...what I know best,
a friend that's always there.

Friendship is one of the most important things in a lot of people’s lives. As a Caseworker at Big Brothers Big Sisters, I get to interview families and volunteers on a regular basis and one of the questions I ask is who are the most important relationships in your life? Those answers more often than not include two groups of people...family and FRIENDS. I too, rely on my closest friends for a lot of different reasons. I have friends I confide in, friends I hang out with who can cheer me up no matter what, and friends who I know no matter how far away we are, or how often we talk, they are there for me. I am very thankful to have the friends I have, but you can never have enough friends right? But it’s not me who needs a friend right now no; it’s the kids in our program, that I know, who need a friend. They need your help, which means I need your help. Some of your kids are on the waitlist and it is my goal to make that waitlist non-existent. I need ALL of your help whether your child is matched or not, whether you are a Big who is matched or not. I need you to spread the word. I need you to help make being a friend a priority. Friendship is important and everyone deserves to have a friend they can trust in and a friend that can rely on. SPREAD THE WORD!
