Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grande Prairie is currently recruiting men and women to become Big Brothers and Big Sisters who are willing to donate small blocks of time to help build self esteem in girls and boys aged 12 to 14 by doing physical activities, eating healthy snacks, and discussing issues facing this age group. The volunteers will work in pairs and have up to 4 children each. The block of time would be for 7 weeks, but the sessions would only be for 2 hours, once a week, for the 7 weeks. There will be a lot of flexibility in the timing of the sessions. We encourage employers to give employees the time during the work day to volunteer…studies show that people who volunteer perform better on the job!
