This is our biggest fund-raising campaign of the year. In 2010, the event will be held on Sunday, February 7th. Our goal is to raise $30,000. In 2009, the net amount raised was $29,980! We are totally amazed by the wonderful support we have received from the community. This campaign reaches 250 participants (each of whom spreads our message to an average of 10 personal contacts when seeking pledges) as well as businesses who contribute prizes or support their employees by matching what they raise. We ask each participant to set a goal of raising $100. Each year, we are seek donations of prizes from local businesses. This may include small items we can use for the draw prizes or group together to create a bigger prize. Donations of cash enable us to purchase unique prizes. We need to confirm all prize donations by early January, but do not need to have the actual prize until February. In early January, letters are delivered to about 100 local businesses and organizations, challenging them to sign up one or more teams to try and raise more money than last year's winners. Pledge books will be available the second week of January. Teams signed up at least two weeks before the event are eligible for the Early Registration draw.
