Have Fun While You Wait

What is an Occasional Big ?

Ø      "Occasional Bigs"  are people who want to be a Big Brother or Big Sister but are unable to make the regular commitment.

Ø      "Occasional Big"  appeals to people who aren’t quite sure if they want to be a Big Brother or Big Sister and this is a way of trying it out first.

Fun While You Wait

"Occasional Bigs" are matched with children on our waiting list for the Traditional program based on compatibility and the child’s need.

The program is not meant to replace the current Traditional program but is designed to provide some contact with the Little and the Agency during the time it takes to make a permanent match.

What will I do with my Little ?

Ø      An "Occasional Big" may choose their own activity for a Little and need not wait for agency sponsored activities for an outing.

Ø      Our agency is often the recipient of complimentary tickets (ie: the circus, hockey games, etc.) and these are activities that an Occasional Big could enjoy with a child or youth on the waiting list for a traditional Big Brother or Big Sister.

Commitment?

The Occasional Big must agree to a minimum of one outing per month.  You will only be matched with one child at a time until that child is matched in the Traditional Program.

The Occasional Big must agree to be active in the program for a minimum of 12 months.
