Activity Ideas for Bigs and Littles

The following is a list of ideas that have minimal expense. These are simply suggestions, so use your imagination and creativity to think of some fun activities to do with your Little. We welcome any new ideas to add to our list. Most importantly remember to focus on FUN and FRIENDSHIP because that is the most important aspect of a Big/Little relationship.

1. Go on a picnic

2. Visit a pet store, kennel, or Humane Society

3. Learn how to make a cake or try a new recipe

4. Listen to music or write your own song

5. Make a kite and fly it together

6. Visit the library or a museum

7. Do crafts together – paint, draw, ceramics, sculptures

8. Take some photographs – no need for a fancy camera

9. Go bicycling, bowling, skating, mini-golfing, tobogganing

10. Go for a hay ride or horse back riding

11. Visit an exotic animals farm

12. Play cards and board games – maybe create your own

13. Write a story or create a play

14. Learn to sew – make your own costumes

15. Be a scientist – study birds, butterflies, bugs

16. Go for a walk on the beach or a hike in the woods – ever been there in the winter?

17. Make a scrapbook of your outings together

18. Outdoor games – Road hockey, catch, basketball, tag, hide and seek, football, roller blade

19. Holiday Activities – Colour Easter eggs, decorate a tree, make your own cards

20. Watch T.V. or movies

21. Be a gardener – plant flowers or vegetables and monitor their growth!
