Other Mentoring Programs

Big Brothers Big Sisters has other mentoring programs available to meet the unique needs of our community. Some of the programs being offered in our community include:

Cross Gender Matches (Big Sisters and Little Brothers)

Due to the high number of young males waiting for a mentor, we support and encourage cross-gender matching (adult female with young male)

    Big Couples

The Big Couple program is exactly the same implication as the traditional program (Big Brother/Big Sister); the only difference is that you will be matched as a couple, so you and your partner/spouse will be matched to a Little Brother or Little Sister! It’s just double the fun for the kids!

    Diversity In-School Mentoring

To increase service to children in the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Moncton, with the partnership of School District 2 and funding by United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick launched a second school based program in 2006.

The goal of the program is to establish a one-to-one relationship to improve language, integration and newcomer awareness to the community. The program is for children from other countries, who are new to our area.

    Diversity In School Mentoring Is:

Mentor and mentee spend 1 hour per week together within the school to improve language, integration and newcomer awareness.
