Just how fast can a go-kart go? Radar guns at the ready, Port Hope Police volunteers will be on hand Sunday, Oct. 3 to time the racers in Northumberland Big Sisters Big Brothers 28th Annual Soap Box Derby. Starting at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 3, Little Brothers, Little Sisters and their Bigs will be whipping down Walton Street at speeds exceeding 30 km/h!

     Set up will start at 7:30, with volunteers from the Northumberland Youth Advisory Council lining the street with straw bales generously loaned and delivered by local farmers. The cars will be hauled out and readied for their run down the hill to the Queen Street finish line, while Littles and Bigs prepare to challenge one another in this annual test of nerves and skill.
