NATURE CALLS

Nature Calls was developed by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax and adopted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saint John to provide a unique mentoring program for youth in the community. Youth (Littles) gain tremendous benefits from participating in Nature Calls, including improved skills to develop positive relationships with peers and mentors, leadership skills, environmental awareness, and practicing wilderness safety while promoting healthy living through physical activity.

Littles between the ages of 10 and 14 are matched with screened adults who become their Bigs (mentors) for the duration of the program. As a group, they will participate in pre-approved outings during the summer of 2011. This first phase of the program runs throughout July and August, with two half-day outings and one full-day adventure planned.  The dates for these outings are July 9th, 16th and August 27th.
