In-School Teen Mentoring

It's about having fun! This is a program that involves high school students spending one hour a week mentoring a child at the elementary school level. The mentoring takes place on school property and is about doing activities of interest to both, such as playing board games, reading, playing on the computer, sports, crafts, etc.

Advantages for children:

·       Children are provided with one on one attention from a teen who is viewed as non-authoritative.

·       Children have an advocate to encourage lifelong learning.

·       Enhances opportunities for the children to graduate from school.

·       Schoolwork may improve because of this positive experience.

·       Strengthens social skills, motivation and self-esteem!

Advantages for teens:

·       Resume and University application building

·       Experience taking part in interview process

·       Rewarding and positive experience becoming a role model in a child’s life!
