In-School Mentoring

Another exciting year of In-School Mentoring!

In-School Mentoring programs at the Stettler Elementay School, Stettler Middle School, Wm E Hay Composite High School, and Erskine School, are in full swing.  Please let Leanna know if you would like to volunteer for this program.  The screening process can take a little whilte, so don't put off calling!   We still have several students waiting for matches, so don't forget to tell your friends about this wonderful program and encourage them to volunteer!

It’s not about homework!  This is a program that takes place at the child’s school, during the school year.  The Mentor spends one hour per week doing a fun activity or just talking with a child who could use a friend.  We encourage employers to give employees the time during the work day to volunteer…studies show that people who volunteer perform better on the job! We also encourage teens to volunteer as mentors - a great way to make a difference, gain experience and earn extra school credits.

You Will Make a Difference!

Once again we are offering In-School Mentoring in five different schools. Stettler Elementary School, Stettler Middle School, Wm. E. Hay composite High School, Christ King Catholic School, and Erskine School. This means we need You! We have many wonderful children waiting to be matched.

Mentors are ordinary people, just like you. They come from all walks of life, all economic and educational backgrounds. Mentors do have one thing in common - a commitment to making the world a better place for young people. A mentor is someone who cares, listens, and offers encouragment. Mentors are partners in change. Mentors help children develope their strengths and talents by supporting their efforts.

We are always looking for individuals interested in volunteering as an In-School Mentor at one of our schools. We are accepting applications from adults and teenagers who enjoy spending time with students doing a variety of fun activities.
