It’s not about homework! This is a mentoring program that takes place at the child’s school, during the school year. The mentor spends one hour per week doing a fun activity or just talking with a child who could use a friend. We encourage employers to give employees the time during the work day to volunteer…studies show that people who volunteer perform better on the job!
Children in our program who are matched to a mentor: have improved confidence, self-esteem and peer relationships. They are 46% less likely to initiate drug and alcohol use, 52% less likely to skip school, and 20% more likely to go on to a post secondary education.
