Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yorkton has been creating friendships since 1983. We started out matching Big Brothers with Little Brothers and have grown to include a variety of different programs that serve both boys and girls.  We are proud of our achievements and continue to strive to be on the leading edge of the Big Brothers Big Sisters movement in Canada.

In January of 1983, a seven member committee began working towards establishing a Big Brother/Big Sister Organization in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. A public information meeting was held at the Yorkton Holiday Inn in May of 1983. The response from the community was positive and from this meeting and subsequent referral, twenty children were identified by their parents as needing the support and guidance of a Big Brother or Big Sister. The Yorkton Big Brothers and Sisters Association was incorporated in 1984.
