Youth Across Canada: Join Us in Ottawa This Spring!

January 11, 2013

Little Sisters and Brothers from across Canada can apply for a free trip to Ottawa this April to take part in workshops and seminars that will help them develop leadership skills, articulate their ideas for social change, and put those ideas into action in their communities.

In celebration of our 100th anniversary, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada is offering a unique opportunity, to inspire 100 current and former Little Brothers and Sisters from across Canada to see themselves as agents of social change and to take action by developing and implementing ideas for improving their local community.

This is an opportunity for youth aged 16-19 to join us in Ottawa from April 15th to 18th with other attending youth from across Canada to take part in workshops and seminars that will help attendees in developing leadership skills, as well as the ability to articulate one’s own ideas for social change, and to put those ideas/plans into action upon your return home. This experience will be invaluable, challenging, inspiring, and of course fun!

In addition to the workshops, one day will be spent visiting Parliament Hill, as well as an evening reception to meet Members of Parliament and to get a sense of the democratic process. Here you may also get an opportunity to discuss your ideas for change with local MPs.

If you have an idea or desire for improving your community and would like to develop your skills to help execute your idea upon your return home, as well as improve your leadership skills, then this is the opportunity for you!
